Charity Ball raises more than £55,000.
September saw Vision coordinate a hugely successful event with the High Sheriff of Cheshire on behalf of Crimebeat - a charity which raises funds to encourage the next generation of good citizens. Fire Jugglers welcomed 300 guests into a glamorous marquee for Dinner and Dancing. A noisy auction allowed guests to bid for a huge range of prizes from a year’s supply of cookies to exclusive Yacht trips in Med, a Dazzling Diamond Ring and a trip to the Big Apple.
New Signing
Jim Hancock, former BBC Political Editor, joined Vision as an associate in September 2006. Jim reported on news and politics in the North West for more than 30 years prior to joining Vision. He also did a stint as Granada’s Political Correspondent (1987 – 1994) and had spells in the Lobby at Westminster.
The appointment comes as Vision expands its portfolio of clients in the public and private sector. As a respected journalist and ‘well known face’, Jim has been increasing his commitments to hosting and moderating events and conferences nationwide.
Jim has developed a reputation as a lively host at events for a number of the Region’s organisations and political parties and his years as a political journalist have seen him interview every Prime Minister from Harold Wilson to Tony Blair.
We are delighted that he has chosen to join us as he seeks new challenges.

Vision Event Makes the Headlines
On 9 December, Vision coordinated a community cohesion event for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council at King Georges Hall in Blackburn town centre. 100 residents enjoyed an afternoon of lively debate and discussion hosted by our own Jim Hancock. It formed part of a wider consultation process following on from comments made by Jack Straw about Muslim women wearing a Niqab veil to cover their faces. Two further consultation rounds are planned including a national conference whose theme is centred on respect, choice and better understanding between varying community groups. The initiative has been positively welcomed as breaking new ground and it secured extensive front page coverage in the Lancashire Telegraph. |
